iPhone 16 could have a dedicated camera button


Apple prepares iPhone 16 with capacitive button to capture photos and videos, reveals information on initial prototypes

A Apple has placed more and more emphasis on its smartphone cameras with each new launch and each new rumor published by MacRumors points out that the initial prototypes of the iPhone16 They have a dedicated button for photos and videos.



Internally called the “Capture Button,” the new button is located on the lower right where the mmWave antenna is currently located for iPhone models sold in the United States.

For this reason, the mmWave antenna would be placed on the left side of smartphones, just below the volume buttons.

It is said that the capture button will be capacitive type with no mechanical parts. In this way, the component would work like the Home button used on iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone SE: vibrating to simulate physical clicking.

The first rumors were about iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max indicated that both premium models would come with capacitive side buttons. However, the project was canceled due to hardware complications.

The new Capture Button is expected to debut on all Apple smartphones next year, including the 6.1-inch iPhone 16, 6.7-inch iPhone 16 Plus, 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max 6.7 inch.

MacRumors points out that the common pair (iPhone 16 and 16 Plus) should inherit the new action button on the iPhone 15 Pro and debut at camera module with vertically aligned lensessimilar to the iPhone 12.

It’s worth mentioning that the iPhone 16 line is still in the early design stage and many changes may be made until the final launch, including the removal of the capture button.
