If the Oscar is the highest accolade for film, the Emmy for television, the Grammy for music and the Tony for theater, Jennifer Hudson has joined a list of people who have at least one statuette from each. of these awards, the EGOTs – an acronym formed by the initials of each of the awards.

She achieved the feat this Sunday, winning Tony as a producer of the Broadway musical “A Strange Loop”. The list of people who have achieved this milestone in awards history is rather limited, with Hudson becoming the 17th person to achieve this when it comes to competitive categories (not counting honorary prizes).

Hudson began her journey to become an EGOT in 2007 when she won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Effie White in “Dreamgirls”. She followed him with two Grammys, one in 2009 for best R&B album and another in 2017 for best musical theater album. In 2021, Jennifer Hudson won the Best Interactive Media in a Daytime Show award as a producer of “Baba Yaga”.

Now, Jennifer Hudson has completed the statuette quartet as the producer of “A Strange Loop,” an award-winning musical that received 11 nominations and won Best Musical at the awards that took place Sunday night (12).
