Angelina Jolie stated to Vogue (via Variety) who started accepting fewer roles “seven years ago, only taking jobs that didn’t require long filming.” The beginning of the period coincides with the divorce between the actress and Brad Pitt, in 2016. “I needed to heal from a lot of things,” she told the magazine. “I feel like I haven’t been myself in the last decade, somehow. Subject I don’t want to bring up,” she added.
Jolie He has only starred in two films since then: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019) and Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021). In supporting roles, she has been in Eternals (2021) and Alice and Peter: Where Dreams Are Born (2020). Angelina also lent a voice in the animations The One and Only Ivan (2020) and Kung Fu Panda 4which will be released in 2024.
Creating the Atelier Jolie clothing brand has helped the actress: “I think part of it has also been therapeutic for me — working in a creative space with people you trust and rediscovering myself.”

After going through something that hurt me, a therapist asked me if I would try wearing flowy clothes. It sounds silly, but I assume that wearing pants and boots projects a tougher look, a stronger version of me. But was I enough to be sweet? Not at that time. I felt vulnerable. Now I wonder if I don’t know what my style is because I’m still understanding who I am at 48 years old.
