Pixar’s animated films and Marvel Cinematic Universe feature films aren’t the only ones hiding little surprises for fans.
In his own work, Steven Spielberg also often enjoyed slipping in a few Easter eggs, be it Star Wars references in the Indiana Jones saga or ET, the crocodile jaws on Hook’s hat, or the veritable barrage of references in Ready Player. one.
Created in 1993, the monumental Jurassic Park is no exception to the rule, and also contains some small hidden details… just waiting to be found. What interests us today requires the use of a good magnifying glass and the eye of a real lynx.
To see it, you need to freeze the image at exactly 43 minutes and 52 seconds. In the sequence in question, the park’s jeeps have just hit the road, and their passengers are facing their first disappointment: the Dilophosaurus refused to show itself.
Hoping to slightly improve the experience of the first guests, John Hammond entrusted it to Dennis Nedry, whose work plan we found at the time was chaotic, to say the least. A mountain of already eaten sweets, a mess of loose papers, a mug with an image of a park or even a dinosaur figurine: this office is a real mine of Easter eggs.
But it’s one of the three computer screens (the one on the left that houses the Jurassic Park mug) that you should pay special attention to. Indeed, provided you zoom in enough and are familiar with Spielberg’s other films, you’ll be able to see that Dennis is watching… Jaws (see above).
It’s hard to understand when you don’t know about it, but it really is. The situation is actually quite ironic when we know that Nedre himself will end up in the monster’s jaws.

We also recommend watching the window open on the same monitor at 54 minutes and 18 seconds of the movie (see above). The image that is supposed to be a video call to Isla Nublar’s marina is actually a simple video player, as can be seen by looking at the mouse cursor over the “play” button.
