Briefcase, Twins and Dollars: Even Chris Hemsworth fans forgot about this movie!

Chris Hemsworth’s Marvel career didn’t start with Thor, but few, even among his fans, remember Ca$h, the 2010 direct-to-video thriller in France that also starred Sean Bean and Victoria Profetta?

Sam retrieves the briefcase that was thrown from the bridge onto his car. Intrigued, he brings the object home and opens it to find it contains a small fortune in bank notes. In debt, Sam uses the money to pay off his debts, convinces his girlfriend Leslie not to pay him back, and spends lavishly. Except a gangster named Pique Kubic is trying to find the contents of the briefcase… in its entirety!

Let’s just say right away, if you’ve never seen this movie, it’s definitely a gap that needs to be filled. Ca$h has a script that has been reworked since the existence of the concept of fiction: a bag not to be picked up. However, it has one advantage:

Sean Bean plays not one, but two roles! Indeed, Peake Kubich has a twin brother locked up in prison, and even if it doesn’t affect the story at all, except perhaps towards the end, it’s a detail worth knowing.

Otherwise, the movie is pretty repetitive: Pike wants every last cent of his money, calls a couple who should manage to find some of the money, arranges a solution that will pay for his part, and we’re off again. a walk Chris Hemsworth does quite well, but he’s clearly the main asset of the film, which can’t live up to genre classics like Snatch, A Simple Plan or Pulp Fiction.

Ca$h is Steven Milburn Anderson’s third and final feature film, following South Central (1992) and Dead Can’t Dance (1997) with Michael Biehn, Kathleen York, and Adrian Paul. The film is not to be confused with Eric Besnard’s 2008 French feature Ca$h of the same name, Jean Dujardin’s tale of a revenge scam tinged with alliances and misunderstandings.

As for Chris Hemsworth, he will soon return as Thor, but in a “different way,” as he recently announced. In the meantime, he has finished filming Furiosa, a spin-off of the Mad Max saga directed by George Miller, and will lend his voice to Optimus Prime in Transformers One, an animated film based on the famous toy brand.
