In the Copa do Brasil title campaign, São Paulo eliminated Corinthians in the semi-finals, with a sensational 2-0 victory at Morumbi. However, Timão continues with more triumphs at the Majestoso taking into account the year 2023.

Of the four classics played this season, Corinthians have won two, with a draw and one Italian triumph (namely the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semi-final). Alvinegro even beat San Paolo at Morumbi during the Campeonato Paulista, something that hadn’t happened since 2017.

The draw between the teams took place in the first round of the Brazilian championship, at the Neo Química Arena. The match was marked by many complaints from the Italian team towards the refereeing and by homophobic chants from Corinthians fans.

This Saturday’s classic is the direct clash at the Brasileirão, with San Paolo in 10th place, with 31 points, and Corinthians immediately behind, with 30. While the Tricolor arrives with a “hangover” after winning the Copa do Brasil, Timão has a new command from Mano Menezes. The coach, however, will not be on the sidelines as he will be disqualified for the third yellow card.

The teams will face each other this Saturday, at 6.30pm (Brasilia time), at Morumbi, for the 25th round of the Brazilian Championship. The tendency is for the fifth Majestic of the year to be sold out.
