Corinthians announces the arrival of the athletic trainer for Mano Menezes’ technical committee

After confirming the hiring of coach Mano Menezes, Corinthians went looking for another name to include in the technical committee. This Sunday, the club announced the arrival of physical trainer Diogo Linhares in the new commander’s group.

At 42 years old, Diogo Linhares has played for some Brazilian football clubs, such as Flamengo and Sport. After stints at clubs in the United Arab Emirates and China, his last contract was with Japan’s Kashima Reysol, where he remained for four years until leaving in May.

The new physical trainer will join assistants Sidnei Lobo and Cauan de Almeida as professionals arriving at the same time as Mano Menezes. Corinthians still has Fernando Lázaro and Mauro da Silva as permanent employees of the club.

Timão’s next match will take place this Tuesday, in a South American semi-final second leg clash. After drawing 1-1 in the first leg, Corinthians will have to beat Fortaleza at Arena Castelão to reach the final. The match is scheduled for 9.30pm (Brasilia time).
