This horror classic directed by William Friedkin is one of the most famous and influential horror films in cinematic history. The film was a huge box office and critical success upon its release.
“The Exorcist” was written by William Peter Blatty, based on his novel of the same name.
The plot follows the story of the girl Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair), possessed by a demonic entity. Desperate for her, her mother, Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn), tries all possible medical means to help her daughter. However, all experiments fail. With no options left, Chris decides to seek religious help and calls priests Damien Karras (Jason Miller) and Lankester Merrin (Max von Sydow) to perform an exorcism.
It is in this film that the disturbing scenes where Regan turns her head 360 degrees and vomits green liquid are present.

This direct sequel to the first film was panned by critics. Despite the excellent success at the box office, the extremely negative reception from critics and audiences meant that “The Exorcist II – The Heretic” did not come close to the success of the previous film.
Directed by John Boorman, the plot takes place four years after the previous film. Teenager Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) is still recovering from her demonic possession. She now lives under the care of hypnotic psychiatrist Dr. Gene Tuskin (Louise Fletcher).
Meanwhile, Father Lamont (Richard Burton) is tasked by the Vatican with investigating the original exorcism. When Reagan is once again plagued by nightmares and voices, Lamont and Gene must pool their knowledge.

Writer William Peter Blatty returns for this new film in the series, now also as director. This time the screenplay is based on the novel “Legion”, also written by Blatty.
“The Exorcist 3” ignores the events of the previous film in the series and picks up the story of the first film.
The plot revolves around a lieutenant (George C. Scott) who investigates a series of brutal murders that appear to be connected in some way to the exorcism that occurred in the first film.

Directed by Renny Harlin, this film is a prequel to the first film. However, this film had production problems, which led to two different theatrical versions being made.
Initially, Paul Schrader was hired to direct the film, which had a more psychological and less supernatural tone. However, the producers feared that the film would not be commercially successful and decided to reshoot much of it, even though the film was practically ready.
The producers decided to bring in another director to direct. The person hired was Renny Harlin, who remade much of the film, adding supernatural and violent elements.
The prequel follows Father Lankester Merrin (Stellan Skarsgård), who is haunted by his experiences in World War II. He has doubts about his faith and begins working as an archaeologist. However, when he travels to Africa, he becomes involved in an archaeological expedition that appears to have unleashed demonic forces.
Unfortunately the film is not officially available on any streaming platform.

After the public and critical fiasco of “The Exorcist: The Beginning”, the producers of Morgan Creek decided to give Paul Schrader another chance.
With a tight deadline for Schrader to complete his version, “Domain: Prequel to the Exorcist” was released a year later.
The plot is set in Africa, in the early 1940s, and explores the story of Father Merrin (Stellan Skarsgård) before the events of the original film. Merrin is called to participate in an archaeological dig of an ancient Christian temple and soon encounters demonic forces. Unfortunately the film is not officially available on any streaming platform.
