The Rock will play Black Adam in the DC movie that opens in Brazilian theaters on October 20
The Rock changed the story of the movie from black adam after making a call with the producer Beau Flynn. Initially, the idea of A.D was to introduce the anti-hero into the same story as Shazambut the actor thought it would not be a good idea and convinced the executives of Warner Bros. pictures to make a solo film.
“When we received an early draft of the script, I immediately felt that we had to separate the two stories. we had to honor Shazam!and what should be done to please the fans, and then also tell our story in another project,” he said in an interview with comic book (via The Addiction).

the producer flynn immediately agreed with the idea: “Dwayne [Johnson, também conhecido como The Rock] made this call with me and Hiram [Garcia], where it said, ‘brothers, let’s do Black Adam. Let’s tell this story. It is something very big and important.’ And that was it. It was really amazing… His instincts are extraordinary. We were developing this script [com Shazam e Adão Negro], but it was not working. Nobody could find a way to make it work properly. When that call happened, everything changed.”
