The visually stunning, SF film from the creator, directed by Gareth Edwards, is currently in theaters. The latter made a name for himself with his first independent film, Monsters, before directing Godzilla and the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story remake.
But when it comes to Star Wars, fans are still wondering if the movie lives up to its mark. Indeed, it’s common knowledge that the feature film underwent an intense shoot under the supervision of the film’s co-writers, Tony Gilroy and Peter Macdonald. However, Edwards insisted and signed: he was present during these additions and supervised them himself.
“What we can find on the internet about this is very wrong”he claims KCRW. “Tony came in and he did an incredible job, no question about it. But we all worked together until the last minute. Making a movie is always a collective effort, especially when it’s as big as this one. There.”
Not only does the film belong to him despite the many post-production retouches and modifications, but the most striking scene in the galactic feature film, Darth Vader, is Gareth Edwards:
The last thing we did with this shoot was the Darth Vader scene in the hallway, and I did that.

And while, of course, he’s sugarcoating things a bit by declaring that he really is Rogue One’s iconic “father,” Edwards half-knows that the truth is more gray than black or white:
“If someone gets a chance to make a Star Wars movie and complain about it, I’m not sure they’re going to get the audience’s sympathy. So I don’t want to fall for that. What’s going on in Fight Club, stay Fight. Club if you know what I mean. That’s what I’m just thankful for.” for what happened and not to be negative.”

In other words, Edwards isn’t willing to tell the story of how post-production actually ended up behind the scenes. The main thing for him to remember is that he is really the author of the Darth Vader scene that left a big impression on all the viewers of Rogue One.
While there are a number of Star Wars movies in development with more advanced titles than others featuring Rey and the Jedi, Gareth Edwards’ future is more uncertain as he hasn’t announced any projects since the creator. Earnings from the film, which is currently in theaters, will definitely create a career boost.
