Netflix: Even bloodier and gorier than The Boys, this series, rated 4.1 out of 5, is drawing subscribers to the platform

Do you like the series Boys, a silly and cynical pastiche of superhero movies? The creator of the original comic has signed on for another series of comics that have also been adapted into television fiction.

Before The Boys, Garth Ennis actually imagined the story of Reverend Jesse Custer, a clergyman from a small town in the United States with a troubled past.

The latter will benefit from Genesis, a divine being that gives him the power to make anyone obey his voice, to bring his faithful deserters back to the church. Together with Tulip O’Hare, his former thief partner, and Cassidy, a centuries-old Irish vampire, he journeys into the mysterious ways of a Lord who exists and who is not as “good” as we believe.

While the duo Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen produced the adaptation of The Boys, he created and produced with Sam Catlin the adaptation of Preacher, which aired from 2016-2019.

And good news, if you missed it, you can watch the series now on Netflix, as the platform added the entire fiction to its catalog on October 30.

A series even bloodier and crazier than The Boys!

With 4 seasons and 43 episodes, Preacher has something to fill your evenings if you like supernatural, humor, violence and irreverent stories. The series uses the same tone as The Boys, with an even edgier, darker and more delicate atmosphere, carried out by a group of actors – Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun and Graham McTavish – who delight in slipping into the skin of twisted characters and tortured.

AlloCiné viewers praise Preacher and give it a score of 4.1 out of 5. Judging by the comments, the originality, tone and plot of the series completely won over AlloCiné viewers.

There is a preacher for the pagan “A show that veers off the beaten path and delivers a fantastic thriller full of silly humor, fun characters (especially Cassidy). A real treat!”.

Same story for Ady A:

“Irreverent and boundless imagination. A masterpiece not recommended for puritanical souls or the most sensitive. We can only regret that there are only four seasons. The themes are deeper than in the comics.”

Some regret that their enjoyment ended after four seasons, such as Paolo C. “Absolutely crazy gem, dark humor, we never tire of it. Sad that season four is the last.”

This little nugget also seems to have won over Netflix subscribers, as it quickly found itself in the platform’s top views shortly after going online. A new look or a complete discovery? Let the preacher convince you if you haven’t already!

All four seasons of Preacher are available on Netflix.
