From Game of Thrones to Toxic Avenger… Peter Dinklage, who will soon star in the prequel to the Hunger Games saga, is the hero of the remake of the cult classic Toxic Avenger, the teaser of which has just been released.
What is Toxic Avenger?
In 1985, an ultra-cheesy parody of superhero movies called The Toxic Avenger hit theaters. Born from the imagination of Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Hertz – through their company Troma, which specializes in junk – the film follows Melvin, a fragile young man who is transformed into a monstrous creature of superhuman size and strength after falling into a vat of toxic chemical waste.
After 38 years, director Macon Blair made a remake. A big fan of the studio, the filmmaker to whom we owe the cop comedy I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore pays homage to the original film with the first teaser for his Toxic Avenger.
If we haven’t seen the famous cast of this sci-fi film yet, these first images promise a fun and ultra-raunchy film like its predecessor.
The feature film featured in the preview at Fantastic Fest leads the way Peter Dinklage Playing the hero Winston Goose, who turns into a horribly deformed creature nicknamed the Toxic Avenger after falling into a vat of toxic waste, Kevin Bacon steps into the shoes of villainous Bob Garbinger, Elijah Wood. Unrecognizable as the villain’s brother and right-hand manTaylor Page plays the role of journalist JJ Doherty, and young Jacob Tremblay lends his qualities to Winston’s stepmother.
The release date has not been announced yet.
