Daniel Alves remains in prison in Spain. And his lawyer, Cristóval Martell, one of the references in Spain, has abandoned the case. The television program “Y ahora Sonsoles” was the first to spread the information.

In an interview on Spanish television, Martell even said he closed the case because he believed the outcome would not be positive.

Inés Guardiola, a specialist in penitentiary law, is therefore responsible for the player’s defense. It is worth mentioning that this is the second change of lawyer in less than a year. Initially, the defense was by Miraida Pontes and later by Martell.
The player is accused of sexual assault. The crime occurred, according to investigations, at the end of December 2022. The victim is a 23-year-old young woman. Several strategies were used to get him out of prison, all without success. Spanish justice claims that he is a flight risk. The trial will take place between October and November.
