After the John Wick: Continental series, will we see another sequel?

As expected, the broadcast of The Continental ended at the end of the third episode. The prequel miniseries to the John Wick saga is set in the 70s and stars Winston Scott, the owner of the Continental Hotel, played by Ian McShane in the franchise’s four films.

Designed as a “three-part special event,” this series also gave us a chance to see another character well-known to fans, as Charon (the janitor played by the late Lance Reddick) appears here in an updated version, in the form of Ayomid Adegun.

Conceived as a mini-series charting Winston Scott’s rise to the helm of the Continental Hotel, the prequel series is unlikely to be renewed for a second season.

Back to the basics of the franchise

Therefore, on television, the future of the franchise is not yet determined, but on the film side, everything looks much brighter with the release of the film “Ballerina” next summer. This spin-off, led by Ana de Armas as the new action hero, marked the big return of Keanu Reeves as both John Wick and Ian McShane as Winston Scott.

Newcomers will also make their debut in the franchise, such as Norman Reedus and Chloe Grace Moretz and Irish actor Gabriel Byrne. Note that Ballerina will neither be a sequel nor a prequel to the John Wick films, as its story takes place between the third film and the fourth part of the saga.

As for John Wick’s fifth opus, nothing is less certain. Much to Keanu Reeves’ chagrin, the door was left open for a possible sequel at the end of the fourth film.

The star of the saga really hoped that his character would be killed off “for sure”Shooting four films was a huge physical and mental strain, which threatened his health.

Episode three of The Continental is now available exclusively on Prime Video.
