After more than two years of waiting, Netflix released Lupine Season 3 on Thursday, October 5th. This new burst of episodes takes place a few months after the events of the previous season.

Now on the run, Asan (Omar Sy), whose face is now known to everyone, must learn to live away from Claire (Ludivin Sagnier) and Raoul (Ethan Simon). Faced with the suffering they endure for him, the gentleman thief can’t take it anymore and decides to return to Paris.

Then he meets Claire to make her a crazy proposition: to leave France and start a new life somewhere else, far from trouble. But the ghosts of the past are never far away, and an unexpected return will disrupt his carefully orchestrated plan.

Numbers that make sense

Netflix subscribers have known since the launch of Lupine: No element of the Omar Sy-led series was left to chance. Every detail was thought out by a team of screenwriters who regularly enjoy the character created by Maurice LeBlanc. And season 3 is not out of the question.

In the first episode, Assanne Diop manages to break into a famous jewelry store on the Place Vendôme to steal the Black Pearl, one of the only objects he never got around to stealing.

To escape the police and BRI agents, he finds a way to change the codes on all the doors of the facility. Selected code: 1905. Fans of Arsene Lupine will no doubt understand the significance of this date.

1905 is actually the year that the first adventure of a gentleman thief was published. A date that holds all its significance for the character played by Omar Sai. And this is not the only code in the series that refers to Arsene Lupine.

Later in the season, during episode 6, Claire, Raoul’s ex-wife, enters a new code for the alarm in her apartment: 1864. The number is none other than Raoul’s date of birth. Maurice LeBlanc, creator of arsenic. Lupine. So we have to believe that Asan is not the only fan of the famous thief. And did you notice any other remarks about Arsene Lupine in the 3rd part of the series?
