The actor Keith Jefferson, known for his roles in the films “Django Unchained” and “Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood”, died this Thursday (5), at the age of 53, after a battle with the cancer. The news was confirmed by his dear friend, fellow actor Jamie Foxx, through a post on his Instagram profile.
According to EarthJefferson had already revealed his cancer diagnosis to the public in August this year, however he preferred to keep the news a secret until then. In the words of Jefferson, “Every now and then God will give you a challenge and allow you to solve it. When I was first diagnosed with cancer, I had to stop, take a break, and I didn’t want to share it with anyone. Neither with my family, nor with my relatives.”
However, the actor felt encouraged to share his struggle with the disease thanks to the support of his growing faith and loved ones, including his mother and Jamie Foxx. “Today I am finally able to share why my faith is growing stronger. I have a loving family and the best friends in the whole world. You know who you are. From my mother to Jamie Foxx and everyone in between. I love them with all my heart.”
It was Jamie Foxx who announced the death, publishing an image of both of them on Instagram and declaring his love for his friend in an emotional post:
Everything hurts now, it’s hard to look at these photos reliving the memories of us having so much fun, I’ll miss you, man, I’ll miss you… since we met in college, you have an amazing soul, God rest you, I HAVEN’T NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE TO SEE THE WORDS ABOUT MY FRIEND. REST IN PEACE.
