Netflix creates award for Brazilian films; see details

Netflix will create an award in collaboration with the Sao Paulo Film Festival. According to the company, one Brazilian fiction film will be selected at the awards and distribution rights will be acquired. The winning production will be screened on the platform in more than 190 countries.

This year, the 2023 Sao Paulo International Film Festival will have the unprecedented screening of Conductornew feature film by Bradley Cooper, e Evil does not existby Ryūsuke Hamaguchi, Oscar winner for Drive my car.

Other films featured at the event this year are A fireby Christian Petzold (Transit), which won the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, and The Chimeradirected by Alice Rohrwacher and with the participation of the Brazilian Carol Duarte (Invisible life), presented at Cannes 2023.

It is also worth underlining that the 2023 Sao Paulo International Film Festival will pay homage to Michelangelo Antonioni with the screening of some of his main works, such as Blow-UP – After That Kiss, The Red Desert and the Incommunicability Trilogy (composed from A Avventura, The Night and The Eclipse)

The 2023 São Paulo International Film Festival will take place from October 19 to November 1 and the full selection, programs and further information will be announced soon.
