General Motors announced Monday that it will lay off about 200 additional workers due to the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike in the United States, which hit a sixth factory.
The Detroit automaker said last week that about 2,100 workers were affected by the strike at two of its assembly plants in Missouri and Michigan and at 18 parts distribution centers.
GM said Monday that about 2,300 workers are now affected, including 70 mass layoffs at its stamping plant in Lansing, Michigan, and about 70 additional layoffs at a plant in Toledo, Ohio.
GM said workers should not return until the strike is resolved.
