Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and his Palestinian Authority counterpart Riyad Al-Maliki were invited to an emergency meeting of European Union foreign ministers on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Israel and the region, the EU top diplomat Josep Borrell.
“I have invited the Israeli Foreign Minister to participate in the meeting of EU Foreign Ministers which I am convening for this afternoon. I have also invited (Palestinian Authority) Foreign Minister Maliki to participate in the meeting and to present the point of view of the Palestinian Authorities,” Borrell said in a post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
EU ministers will meet in Muscat, Oman, where a meeting of EU foreign ministers and the Gulf Cooperation Council was already scheduled. Some ministers will be present in person, others will participate in the meeting remotely.
