‘I Won’t Play Anyone’: She Was In One Piece But Refuses To Star In The Beloved Anime Adaptation!

If there’s an actor who deserves the term live-action specialist, it’s him. It wasn’t until 2023 that McEnenu appeared as the main headliner in the film Knights of the Zodiac, then as the swordsman Roronoa Zoro in the live-action series One Piece.

The son of martial arts film legend Sonny Chiba has previously appeared in numerous manga adaptations, including JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, Tokyo Ghoul S, Kenshin: The Completion, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Scar’s Revenge and The Last Alchemy.

Regarding the panel day organized by our colleagues ColliderThe cast of the live-action series One Piece were asked what their favorite anime was. For Emily Rudd (Nami) and Inaki Godoi (Luff) there were several programs that were obvious, such as Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaizen, and Attack on Titan.

Also on this occasion, in an interview, McEnuy revealed that his favorite anime was none other than Hunter x Hunter. Adapted from the book by Yoshihiro Togashi (37 volumes available from Kana), this series follows the story of Gon Frax, a young boy who dreams of becoming a hunter following in the footsteps of his father, a legendary hunter himself.

In publication since the spring of 1998, Hunter x Hunter continues to be published, but at an uncertain pace due to its author’s recurring health problems. Two anime were released: the first version in 1999 (62 episodes), then the second adaptation in 2011, which now serves as a fan reference (148 episodes).

But don’t expect Mackenzie to appear in the live-action adaptation of Hunter x Hunter, as the Japanese-American actor has said he doesn’t want to. “Man’s Game” If only a live action version of Hunter x Hunter could see the light of day!

Note that the latter will also not be featured in the live-action series Yu Yu Hakusho (adapted from Togashi’s other cult manga), which will be available on Netflix next December.
