This famous actor and singer could have joined the cast of the Joker sequel, still with Joaquin Phoenix. The Joker 2 promises to be surprising as it will be a musical!
One week after confirmation of the Joker extension, the new film becomes clearer, with two major announcements.
according to Hollywood ReporterLady Gaga will be discussing joining the Joker 2 cast. After Top Gun Maverick, whose title song is the author, the singer and actor can thus add a new prestigious film to his filmography.
Another finding: The film may take the form of a musical. Surprising and at the same time logical statement, the music already occupies a very large place in the first part of The Joker.
From Frank Sinatra to The Doors, the playlist for the first film included many musical standards.
Titled Joker: Folie à deux, we now have confirmation that the film should give way to a second character, in this case Harley Quinn, and therefore could take over Lady Gaga if the current negotiations are successful.
For reference, in the past this character has been interpreted by Margo Robbie in movies and voiced by Kaylee Cuoco in the animation.
Todd Phillips will still be writing and directing this sequel, along with the co-writer. Except for the hints left by the title, nothing was filtered in the story of this new component.
The first Joker to be released in 2019 focuses on the iconic figure of Batman’s sworn enemy and paints a portrait of Arthur Fleck, an uncompromising man hated by society.
The feature film was a huge hit, grossing more than $ 1 billion worldwide and earning 12 Oscar nominations. Joaquin Phoenix won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role as the Joker, while Hilda Gonadotir won Best Original Score in the music genre.
