Expected July 8 in the United States and July 13 with us, “Thor: Love and Thunder” will last only 1h59. Which will make it Marvel’s shortest film since 2018 and after the release of “Ant-Man and the Wasp”.
The longer the better? Apparently this was the Marvel Studios credo with The Eternals and Spider-Man No Way Home, which were 2:37 and 2:28, respectively. But the situation has clearly changed in 2022: After Dr. Strange’s 2h06 in many worlds of madness, the AMC movie theater states that Thor: Love and Thunder will last only 1h59.
If the duration is confirmed, this will be the first time the MCU film has been missing the two-hour mark since 2018 and after the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp. However, Love and Thunder will not be the shortest episode in the Torah saga if we compare the corresponding lengths of each opus:
Directed by Taika Waitit, who stands behind the camera (and in front, in the role of Corgi) after Ragnarok’s success, the feature film risks going straight to the point. Because he has to show the hero to the Guardians of the Galaxy before he can start searching for his identity, review the Avengers’s last game results on other characters, return Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and her new powers, or submit to Gore. (Christian Bailey), declared as a memorable villain.
In anticipation of the release, which is scheduled for July 8 in the United States and then July 13 at home, new posters were unveiled: one for each character (including Zeus, played by Russell Crowe, and two mystical goats carrying the hero’s ship) as well as different formats (IMAX, Real 3D, etc.), which will be shown according to the cinema.
