According to information from Engadget, Round 6 is considered the most popular Netflix series of all time, surpassing other major productions such as Stranger things, Wandinha AND The witcher.
A second season has already been confirmed for streaming, but there aren’t many details yet. On another occasion, Lee Jung-jae, protagonist of the series, declared that filming of the new episodes would begin between June and September of this year, going until the beginning of 2024. There is no confirmation, however, about the start of production.
Launched in 2021, Round 6 follows 456 people with financial problems who agree to participate in bizarre survival games for a cash prize. The plot, which brings with it a social criticism, won two Emmy awards: best actor in a drama series, with Lee Jung-jae winning (he became the first Asian actor to win an Emmy) and best director in a drama series ( to Hwang Dong-hyuk).
