Ferrari, a biopic about Enzo Ferrari, founder of the Scuderia and factory of the brand, has finally gotten a release date in Brazil. Starring Adam Driver, the film will officially open in Brazilian cinemas on February 8, as revealed by Diamonds Films in a new poster.
In Ferrari We will follow the company’s crisis in 1957, when Enzo and his wife Laura risk bankruptcy. In addition to financial difficulties, the couple experiences instability in their relationship due to the loss of their first son, Dino Ferrari, in 1956. In the midst of this scenario, and with no way out, Enzo decides to bet everything on one last thing . race: the iconic Mille Miglia, in Italy.
Passionate about motor sports since the age of 10, Enzo was a mechanic and driver, winning several titles in the 1920s. In 1932, after the birth of his first child, he decided to retire and concentrate on the management and development of racing cars , ultimately building a team of superstar drivers: Scuderia Ferrari, officially founded in 1929, making it the oldest team active in Formula 1, as well as the most victorious and successful in the history of the championship.
In 1960 he received the title of Doctor honoris causa in engineering and, subsequently, in physics from the University of Bologna.
Ferrari died on 14 August 1988 in Maranello, aged 90. The last successes achieved by his team were the Jody Scheckter titles in 1979 and the constructors’ title in 1983. The last car of the brand founded by the businessman was the famous F40, from 1987.
