Believe: Robin Williams, who voiced the Genie of the Lamp in Aladdin, did not return with Artificial Intelligence in a new short film
The public will be able to remember Robin Williams in Once Upon a Studio (2023), new animated short that celebrates 100 years of stories and magic of the Walt Disney Animation Studios which mixes live-action, traditional animation and 3D animation.
Next to the Lamp Geniewith vocals by Williams – who passed away in 2014 – iconic characters such as snow White It is Peter Pan appear in a cast of 543 characters from more than 85 feature films and short films from the studios. And believe me: everything happened without any artificial intelligence involved.
To the Varietythe producer Bradford Simonsen revealed that, from the beginning, he knew that the genius of Robin Williamsone of the most responsible for the success of Aladdin (1992) needed to be part of the tribute.
robin, like the genius, means so much to so many people and we would love to get you involved. Then Dan [Abraham – um dos diretores] heard the takes that were not used in the original recording [da animação, em 1992] and found these little excerpts that we could use”
