True to his post, director Barry Sonnenfeld is back in action, although the project for the third installment is suffering from some production problems. The script passed through several hands—Jeff Nathanson, David Koepp, then Ethan Cohen—during filming before the final version was completed.

Indeed, the story of this third opus becomes more complex due to time travel: when the fate of Earth is threatened, Agent J decides to go back in time to make things right. So he teams up with young Agent K to save the future of humanity.

After a four-year absence from screens, bank owner Will Smith is also back in the lead alongside newcomer Josh Brolin. The future interpreter of big bad Thanos, in the MCU universe, here plays a young version of Tommy Lee Jones, whose facial expressions he skillfully imitates with the help of makeup and a prosthetic nose.

Despite its production problems (and budget overruns), Men in Black III Based on the ingredients that made the franchise a success: great casting, a good dose of humor, flawless special effects and truly disturbing scenes.

Upon release, the film grossed $624 million worldwide on a $225 million budget. In France, it has a total of 2.1 million records.
