Workshop on Netflix: Who is the killer? The ending of the horror movie is explained

Warning, spoilers. Before continuing reading this article, it is advisable to watch the film’s workshop.

It’s a little spooky surprise that comes to us from Sweden and is finding success on Netflix. Currently number three of the most watched movies on the platform, The Workshop is a slasher comedy adapted from a book conference by Mats Strandberg, written by Thomas Moldestad and directed by Patrik Eklund.

Not recommended for under 18s, this original little horror film tells the story of the teamwork of a motley group of municipal employees who gather to celebrate the upcoming construction of a shopping center in Kollarengen. Even if the agreement between all colleagues is not good, it is a way to breathe after signing this contract, which not only made people happy in the city.

But no sooner have they settled into a holiday village on Lake Colerjon – where all kinds of activities await them, each crazier than the last – when these municipal employees are hunted down by a mysterious killer and killed in gruesome agony.

At the end of the seminar, he explained: who is the murderer?

As mentioned above, the municipal employees are not very friendly, especially since they each have their own personalities and secrets, such as the psychopathic leader Jonas (Adam Lundgren seen in Chernobyl). In fact, the latter created a scheme to secure his career and obtain a high-level executive position.

We understand that the shopping center project is nonsense, because no company has confirmed its installation in the future complex – not even IKEA! – which means that no tourist will return to the town of Kolarengen, which will go bankrupt.

To make matters worse, Paulson, the farmer whose land they took to build the future mall, was never paid for this dishonest deal… and that detail is important for what follows.

All of this compromising information is discovered on Jonas’ computer by Lina (Katia Winter, seen in Dexter, Sleepy Hollow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), one of the employees who has just returned to the group after a significant illness and who understands that Jonas has impersonated her. Signing a malicious agreement in absentia.

He will then try to stop Jonas and involve his colleagues, who disappear one after another, in a crazy revenge. The killer chases them all at the same time, making for an incredible and ultra-bloody sequence!

In addition to wanting to take down Jonas, everyone is trying to figure out the identity of this insane killer who has come up with a very precise plan after making sure to trap him in the forest, block the roads, surround the holiday village and cut him off. electricity.

Especially since the killer is hiding behind a mask that was part of a Swedish coal fuel suit, which makes him even more terrifying. Between the two assassination attempts, colleagues develop theories, including Annette’s hypothesis.

The latter thinks that it is France, a former colleague of the municipality, who was so disillusioned with the shopping center project that he stabbed the owner with a pen and was subsequently fired. Except Annette learns the hard way that the killer isn’t Fran.

The gang discovers a page in the local newspaper that features an interview with Pason’s son, a farmer who lost his farm and later killed himself. The group then thinks that his son literally wants revenge on him.

After several fights with the killer, the gang manages to get rid of him by beheading him, without confirming his identity at the time. But a new shot on the newspaper page reveals that this is the correct hypothesis, and that the killer was indeed Palsson’s son, seeking revenge on his father.

But he also took revenge on the “forest proletarians” he represents through his charcoal-burnt mask. Because it is they who supply the land with coal and it is they who are robbed by the rich who want to build a shopping center.

The film doesn’t tell us if this mall project will succeed, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the survivors carefully blocked the development of this real estate. After all, they didn’t do it all for nothing.

Each character is entitled to their moment of glory… and hemoglobin! So be careful with the one you have in your heart, because it can quickly disappear from the landscape. Place your bets on the survivors of this exciting butchery!

With just the right touch of humor and horror, the workshop offers an exciting visual experience while creating tension and fear about the dead and how they will disappear from the face of the earth. Perfect for the dark days ahead or for a special Halloween session.

The film workshop is available on Netflix.
