Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus can get more efficient screens thanks to LTPO technology and support for minimum frequencies up to 1 Hz
A SAMSUNG is expected to announce its new high-end phones in a few months, and new rumors have provided more details on the models’ screens Galaxy S24 AND Galaxy S24 Plus. According to the information, the smartphones will be able to feature LTPO OLED technology that allows for variable refresh rates more efficiently, which until now was limited to the Galaxy S Ultra.

In practice, this means that devices could automatically switch to a minimum refresh rate of just 1 Hz, i.e. affecting the images displayed on the display with the frequency of one update per second. This is especially useful for saving battery, as the screen can use less power in static scenes, such as when showing images or using Always On mode.
For comparison purposes, the models Galaxy S23 AND Galaxy S23 Plus they can be configured in variable frequency mode ranging from 48 to 120 Hz. It is also possible to use devices with a fixed frequency of 60 Hz, which should ensure more consistent battery life.
It was said that LTPO technology had not yet been used across the entire Galaxy S line due to higher manufacturing costs. However, the arrival of the solution for all smartphones in the series can be considered a signal for the entire market.
The smartphone screen must be made by Samsung Display itself, with the M13 organic material and the same characteristics as the Galaxy S24 Ultraexcept for panel resolution.

So far, the S24 Plus is expected to have the same WQHD+ resolution as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with dimensions of 6.7 inches. The Galaxy S24 would have a 6.2-inch Full HD panel and both would have a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits.
Previous rumors have already shown what the other specs of the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus should be, including the arrival of the Exynos 2400 processor. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to lose the 10x optical zoom camera, but the device would maintain the 100x hybrid approximation with the 200 MP sensor.
A specific launch date for the Galaxy S24 line has not yet been announced, but for the devices they may appear during the month of January – therefore, a little ahead of Samsung’s traditional schedule.
