Singer and digital influencer Juliette Freire has once again been at the center of controversy with the recent accusation of plagiarism involving the song “Magia Amarela”, released in collaboration with Duda Beat in the early hours of this Wednesday (18/10). It wasn’t the first time that the “BBB 21” winner found herself at the center of debates on the originality of her musical career which, since her debut, has been marked by questions and comparisons.
Disc cover
The accusations come from the repercussions around the cover of his first EP from September 2021, which according to internet users had the same aesthetic references as a Pabllo Vittar release, the single “Indestructível”. At the time, Juliette’s fans defended the artist by stating that the same references could also be seen in works by other artists such as Pink Floyd and Demi Lovato. In response, Juliette’s team expressed gratitude to the named artists and chose to edit the original artwork to “avoid further controversy”.
Song titles
Subsequently, the band Boogarins raised doubts about possible similarities between their song titles and Paraíba recordings, such as the songs “Doce”, “Sei Lá” and “Sei Lá”. A fan even expressed his discontent on social media, waiting for an official position from Juliette’s team, who limited themselves to underlining the affection and respect for the Brazilian music present in the EP.
Clip aesthetics
The accusations deepened with Manu Gavassi pointing out similarities in references in the music video of the song “Quase Não Namoro” with his project “Gracinha”. Manu said he was “extremely sad” towards Juliette’s team, but did not hold the singer directly responsible.
The song “Un Ratito”, a collaboration between Juliette, Alok and Luis Fonsi, also entered the debate, which led to the single’s removal from YouTube following accusations of copyright infringement made by the duo Sevenn. The Americans’ problem, however, concerned Alok.
Formal accusation
Coincidences were treated precisely as coincidences, until the controversy involving the song “Magia Amarela”, released in collaboration with Duda Beat, was compared to the musical project “AmarElo” by Emicida. Evandro Fióti, Emicida’s brother and partner, supported the accusations, revealing that Juliette and Duda’s song was released for an advertising campaign for a product that he had previously sought them out for. He stated that he would take legal action against those responsible, exoneration of Julitte and Duda Beat.
The Juliette team confirmed this Wednesday morning (18/10) that the song is part of a campaign and that they are in contact with those responsible for its creation and production for further clarification. However, the damage had already been done.
the EP also paid homage to the beloved Boogarins, naming exactly 3 of their songs.
but obviously, a big coincidence. pic.twitter.com/x345HVAO61

Now the most recent and also the most controversial concerns Emicida’s award-winning project, from aesthetic concept to the letter, making separation “love is the connection”.
and worse: Ju’s is part of a campaign by Bauducco, who previously would have sent a proposal to Emicida, without however closing it for reasons of $ pic.twitter.com/x8bDZZx5x1
