The In-Edit Brasil International Music Documentary Festival begins its 14th edition this Wednesday (15/6), with an in-person program in São Paulo and online, which will run until the 26th.
The program includes 67 national and international films, covering very different artists and styles such as veteran Tina Turner’s blues, Thelonious Monk’s jazz, King Crimson’s progressive rock, A-ha’s 90s pop, 90s like Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr, and even representatives of the new indie generation like Courtney Barnett, not to mention a special selection focused on heavy metal (with films on Brazilian metal, Norwegian black metal, Ronnie James Dio, etc. ).
Equally varied is the list of national films, including Garotos Podres’ punk, Sidney Magal’s brega and Belchior’s alternative MPB.
In-Edit will also have a vinyl fair and pocket shows featuring Banda Mantiqueira, Mundo Livre SA, Black Pantera, Benjamim Taubkin, Test, Carline and Friends, Os Imitáveis, Garotos Podres and Alzira E, as well as debates and meetings with artists and filmmakers .
The opening will take place at 8:30 pm at CineSesc, with the screening of “Nothing Compares”, a film about singer Sinead O’Connor, which world-premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
