A dry air mass affects parts of the Central-West, North and Northeast of Brazil, inhibiting the appearance of rain and maintaining high temperatures.

A cold front moves away from Brazil at the height of Espírito Santo. Areas of instability have spread in the South-East Region and in the South of Brazil, causing a lot of cloud cover and rain showers, sometimes of heavy intensity.

Warm, moist air predominates over northern Brazil and allows the formation of heavy clouds that cause moderate to heavy rain showers.

Southern region

Areas of instability grow in southern Brazil and cause more rain across much of the region.

Attention: several regions of the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul are on alert for flooding due to river overflows, aggravated by the very heavy rains in the first half of October 2023.

In the center, south and east of Rio Grande do Sul, including Porto Alegre, sun all day, with very cloudy periods, but no rain is expected.

In the north and north-west of Paraná there are periods with sunshine and rain showers with lightning from the afternoon onwards.

In all other areas of southern Brazil, including Greater Curitiba and Greater Florianópolis, there are periods with sunshine among many clouds and rain showers at any time, which can be moderate to heavy in intensity.

South-eastern region

A cold front moves away from Espírito Santo. Moist, warm air spreads over much of the southeastern region, allowing heavy clouds to form.

The coast of Sao Paulo has cloudy skies, light rain and mild temperatures. In Greater São Paulo, in Vale do Ribeira and Vale do Paraíba, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, in the Zona da Mata Mineira, in Vitória and in the south of Espírito Santo, the day is cloudy, with sunny spells in the afternoon, with mild temperatures and with the possibility of drizzle in the morning and evening.

In Grande Belo Horizonte and other areas of Minas Gerais, in the center, north and west of São Paulo, the sun appears all day, always with some clouds and there are rain showers with lightning in the afternoon and evening. There is risk of moderate to heavy rain in various locations.

In the Sorocaba region and in the south of São Paulo there are periods with sunshine among many clouds, and it can rain lightly.

Midwest Region

OR dry and hot air it intensifies over Mato Grosso and Goiás, reducing cloud cover and leaving high temperatures, which are expected to exceed 40°C in several areas. The sun appears strong in these areas, but some rain showers may occur in the afternoon on the border between Goiás and Minas Gerais. The Federal District has sun all day and some rain in the afternoon.

North-East Region

Virtually all of the Northeast has a day with lots of sunshine, few clouds and no conditions for rain.

Northern Region

Dry and hot air prevails in Tocantins and in almost all areas of Pará and Amapá, leaving a stable climate, with sunshine and no conditions for rain.

High temperatures, which can reach around 40°C in the afternoon, can be observed in Tocantins, south and east of Pará.

In Roraima, Amazonas, Acre and northern Rondônia, humid and warm air predominates, which allows the formation of heavy clouds and the occurrence of rain showers.
