Warning, spoilers. The following paragraphs show the story elements of Peakt Blinders and its ending.
After three long waits, the sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders has finally been released on Netflix in France. These last episodes put an end to the adventures of gangsters in Birmingham Tommy Shelby (Killian Murphy) and his family. In six seasons, the clan leader has come a long way and taken a seat in parliament in the political world, after years of agitation and illegal business.
Tommy Shelby also thought he could get rid of the fascist politician Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin), but his assassination attempt failed. This failed attack had consequences: Aunt Paul (Helen Macror), who served as the family matriarch, was killed and her death deeply angers the Shelbys.
There will be a sharp split between Tommy and Michael (Finn Cole), Paul’s son, at Paul’s funeral, who vows revenge on the leader of the Peaky Blinders. Season 6 will be marked by their animosity as Tom manages to trap him and put him in jail. Tommy will take advantage of the ban to get into the opium trade.
While he continues his genius plans and political manipulations to replace his enemies and grow his business, Tommy is skeptical of his future. Thinking he will be cursed and suffering from tuberculosis, the leader of the peak blinders will violently attack those who believe they are responsible for his misfortunes, especially after the death of his daughter, Ruby, who became seriously ill.
The death of his daughter Tommy Shelby will be an endless point. He hits a good shot at the ant and gathers everyone to start the final attack. The leader of the Peaky Blinders uses the opportunity to present his secret son, Duke Shelby, who was born to a woman named Zelda as a result of a pre-World War I relationship. That’s too much for his wife, Lizzie, who leaves him with her son Charles to take with her.
Thinking he will die of tuberculosis, Tom takes care of his affairs, entrusts them to his sister Ada, and demolishes the house so that no trace is left. Before retiring, he plans a revenge plan against the Irish Republican Army figures responsible for Paul’s death. His brother Arthur accomplishes this mission.
For his part, Tommy traps Michael out of jail. He avoids the car that was meant for him and kills him coldly. Thus, Tommy meets Paul’s prophecy that he wanted one of the two to die at the hands of the other. After this murder, Tommy says goodbye to the family and prepares to end his life to avoid dying from the disease.
But, thanks to the sight of his dead daughter, Tom realizes that the doctor lied to him and that he never had non-surgical tuberculosis. In fact, his enemy Oswald Mosley, close to the doctor, wanted to believe he was sick and committed suicide.
Because the only one who can kill Thomas Shelby is Thomas Shelby himself. The latter goes to the doctor to kill him, but eventually leaves the position. Tommy burns his belongings and wheelchair so that no trace of him is left and moves on to a new, unfamiliar life.
