From The King of Comedy to Killers of the Flower Moon, remember the career of the greatest living filmmaker
It’s practically impossible not to think about Martin Scorsese when talking about cinema. One of the great defenders of the seventh art, the director directed films and also documentaries, in addition to producing some television series.
A few days after the release of Flower Moon Assassins (2023), starring Leonardo DiCaprio It is Lily Gladstone, Rolling Stone USA published a list written by David Fear with a ranking of all the feature films – there are 32 in total, so far – by the legendary filmmaker.
Last place went to Ilha do Medo, from 2010, one of the director’s several partnerships with DiCaprio. According to the journalist, the film “stumbles over its own twists and turns” – which is why it is in last position. The first documentary to appear is The Rolling Stones Shine a Lightwhich ranked 25th.
What you get is the Stones playing an arena show in an intimate theater, nothing less and somewhat regrettably, nothing more. […] The behind-the-scenes material doesn’t add much to the mix, although you get a great sense of the rivalry between Marty It is Mick as these two alpha dogs vie for control.
The top 10 of the ranking opens with one of the great classics of Martin Scorsese: The King of Comedystarring Robert De Niro. Soon after, in 9th place, is Flower Moon Assassins. The podium has The Irishman (3rd), Raging Bull (2nd) and The Good Companions (1st). See below:
