It’s been a little over a year since Tim Allen and Nancy Travis last appeared on our screens as Mike and Vanessa Baxter in the sitcom. the last man standingwhich ended its nine-season run from being canceled on Fox in May 2021. other high-profile series have been canceled in the meantime, and 2022 as a whole is many shows that are ending . But none of this necessarily makes thinking more enjoyable. SGA no longer around, as Allen himself pointed out in one of the comedian’s most melancholy social media posts of recent times.
Tim Allen has already been busy enough in 2022, both with the Santa Claus Streaming series are coming to Disney + and its last show with Home improvements co-star Richard Karn early in history. But with both shows having filming done, and as neither of the formats for those projects compare to how the last man standing the episodes came together, it’s understandable that the actor felt pain that the show didn’t need to return to Baxter mode for a new season. That’s how he thought he was going to miss the show Twitter :
Shit, I miss them all at Last Man Standing, it was a great job. pic.twitter.com/Cht8mrO0v7June 11, 2022
If you’ve ever said to yourself, “Wow, I haven’t seen a picture of TV legends Hector Elizondo and Jay Leno reading the scripts at the same time,” then you can put that claim to rest, because it’s a thing of the past. It’s a rather creepy behind-the-scenes image to share to show Allen how much work he’s been missing. the last man standing, given the number of people who would presumably choose to share a huge group photo with everyone posing and smiling. But that was never Tim Allen’s style.
In that sense, it’s probably the perfect picture for him, as it more accurately describes what life was like on set, where you’re much more likely to see actors reading their lines than huddling together and watching. . a camera lens. Wait, it’s filming … You know what I mean.
A job is only as good as the colleagues around you and given all the talent it has gone through the last man standing consolidated over the years, it was a good job. Am I talking mainly about Paul F. Tompkins, Jere Burns, Reba McEntire and Robert Forster? Certainly them as much as anyone else.
When Gossipify spoke with the last man standingLe producteur exécutif et showrunner Kevin Abbott à l’époque de la finale de la série a prédit qu’il y aurait easily de la place pour que les acteurs se réunissent pour plus, ne serait-ce qu’après quelques années d’éloignement de everything. So he spoke at the time:
Of course. I mean, absolutely. I love the cast, I love the crew, I love everyone involved. there are [it would be possible] with some free time, so as to forget all the things they do that bother me. [Laughs.] As I said, I think their life goes on. I would always be interested in discovering the characters I really enjoyed writing. I’ll be working with Tim again in a second. I’d work with Nancy, Hector and everything. I mean, you couldn’t ask for a better cast and the writers were wonderful.
Which is not to say that fans are sure to see Tim Allen having fun in the Outdoor Man offices again, as that would obviously depend on the casting deal, as well as a studio to bring him to the small screen. . But given Allen’s continued popularity, you’d be foolish to think that’s never going to happen. Once a show survives a cancellation, it can survive anything.
Tim Allen will soon be thinking a lot more about his new show with Richard Karn, more power, which will make its chainsaw debut on History Wednesday, June 29 at 10pm ET. Following this, Disney + subscribers I’ll probably watch the last chapter of Santa Claus saga a little closer to the Christmas season.
