The Daughter of God: Dalma Maradona reveals the man beyond the football idol
On October 26, HBO MAX launches “God’s Daughter: Dalma Maradona,” a documentary series focusing on the life of the great Argentine star through the eyes of his daughter Dalma. With three episodes of 45 minutes each, the work aims to reveal the most authentic and emotional aspects of the football icon, reconstructing unique experiences.
Dalma made a real trip around the world talking to people who influenced Maradona’s life and ended up being influenced by him, such as Guillermo Coppola, Sergio Goycochea, Carlos Tévez, Lalo Maradona, Jorge Burruchaga, Fernando Signorini and his Neapolitan colleagues .
“For me it was a great pride, because the people I spoke to didn’t talk anything about football, because it’s something that everyone probably already knows. They talked about him as a person and this was very nice,” Dalma said in a round table in which the column participated.
In addition to the former player’s historic moments, the documentary is packed with personal videos showing Maradona at birthday parties, on holidays and revealing a light, relaxed side with his family that has rarely been seen in public. “Everyone knows his story, but only I can tell Diego Maradona’s story with me,” Dalma says during the documentary.
