Movie Quiz: If you’re a Stephen King fan, you’ll be able to score more than 10/14!

From Brian De Palma’s Carrie, the very first film adaptation of Stephen King’s work in 1976, to Gary Doberman’s new version of Salem, due later this year, more than fifty novels and short stories. Stories from the master of horror that have been adapted for the big screen, not to mention numerous TV movies.

And among them, a new version of It (the first part of which premieres in Paris tonight), Andres Muschietti’s diptych after Tommy Lee Wallace’s 1990 TV movie that traumatized a generation of young viewers. Curry is particularly dangerous as Pennywise. The killer clown will soon return to the screens in a series dedicated to him.

Change of director

It was originally supposed to be directed by a certain Cary Fukunaga, but the director, who worked wonders on the first season of True Detective, ended up leaving the project due to some artistic disagreements with the producers of New Line (mainly because the company only wanted to make one movie). The film will finally be presented by Andrés Muschietti, who was awarded at Gerardmer in 2013 for his first feature film Mamá.

2017 Stephen King

There are exactly four adaptations of Stephen King novels in 2017: It, The Mist, The Dark Tower and the new small screen adaptation of Mr. Mercedes.

A record for a trailer

The film’s trailer was viewed more than 197 million times in 24 hours, surpassing the previous record holder Fast & Furious 8’s 139 million views in December 2016. A new record at the time that has since been largely surpassed, especially by MCU films (Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home).
