At least 16 people died in separate shootings which took place simultaneously on the night of this Wednesday 25th, in the city of Lewistonin Maine, in WE. The information comes from CNN North American.

In 50 to 60 people were injured in the attacks, but it is not yet known whether they were all shot.

A suspect is at large, according to what was published on social media by the local sheriff’s office. The company shared images of him to try to help identify him. The man appears holding a high-powered rifle.

Police recommended closing businesses in the city early so they could carry out the investigation. They also asked citizens to remain vigilant and report if they see “suspicious activities or individuals.”

The city of Lewiston is the second largest in the state of Maine, whose capital is Portland. At least three shootings were recorded in different parts of the municipality.

The situation led the authorities of a nearby city, Auburn, to ask the population to stay at home. The request was made via social media.
