Bernadette: Did you know the actor who plays Nicolas Sarkozy?

After Denis Podalides in La Conquête and Jean Dujardin in The Presidents, there is yet another actor to portray Nicolas Sarkozy in cinema. In Bernadette, it is Laurent Stoker who does everything to revive the man nicknamed “The Traitor”.

Member of Comédie-Française

Studied at Gerard Philippe’s atelier from 1991 to 1993, then at the Conservatoire from 1993 to 1996 (with teachers Madeleine Marion, Daniel Mesguich and Philippe Adrien), he made his first film appearance in 1997 in The Death of the Chinese. We have seen Sadesh, but the actor mainly devoted himself to theatre. In 2001, he joined Comédie-Française, of which he became a member in 2004.

César for Most Promising Actor

Exhibited in 2005 at Saint-Jacques… La Mecca and Aux Abois (in which he plays the young lawyer of the murderer Elie Semoun), Laurent Stoker became famous two years later thanks to the character of Philibert Marquet de la Durbeliere. Confused and whimsical Aristo, in ensemble, by Claude Berry. Opposite stars Audrey Tautou and Guillaume Canet, she was a revelation in the film, which earned her a César for Most Promising Actress in 2008.

Laurent Stoker seems to have found his place in French cinema: headstrong son of Catherine Deneuve (Cyprien), lover of Sylvie Testud (Je ne dis pas non non), he plays one of the guests in Code A Changed, a choral film. By Daniel Thompson.

Laurent Stoker in “Games of Influence”

between comedies and historical works

In the early 2010s, the actor played several roles. We can see him in the thriller Nuit Blanche, the very political L’Exercice de l’Etat, eleven times nominated and three times awarded at the 2012 Césars, where he faced Michel Blanc and Olivier Gourmand, then stick out your tongue, mademoiselle. with whom he falls in love with Louise Bourgoin.

He continues mainly in the registers of comedy and romance, as evidenced by his performances in Chic!, Les Naufragés, Caprice, Ange et Gabrielle, Garde alternatée, My Very Dear Children or Men on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, which did not happen. Prevent him from appearing in the historical film J’accuse, the biopic “De Gaulle” and the thriller “Goliath”.

Listen to our interview with Leah Domenach, director of Bernadette*:

On the television side, Laurent Stocker has appeared in several TV movies (My Dear Village, Diabolique), as well as the series Une Affaire Française and Oussekine, which depict a famous French criminal case of the 1980s. The actor also portrays. One of the main characters of the mini-series Jeux d’influence, which (in the tradition of Goliath) depicts characters in conflict with the agrochemical lobby.

This year, Laurent Stoker returned to a lighter register. A few months ago, before Bernadette, we were able to see her in Noemi Lvovsky’s fantasy and musical La Grande Magie. It will be on stage this summer stingy in Lilo Baur’s production.
