Video game adaptation by film director Neil Blomkamp Great Tourism Released in theaters on August 11, 2023, Sony and Playstation Productions announced on Tuesday.
An acting role for the film, which is based on a hit PlayStation racing simulation game, has yet to be announced. The film’s pre-logline shows him fulfilling the wishes of a teenage Gran Turismo player who won a series of Nissan races before becoming a true professional racing driver.
The official word of the film will follow the success of Sony and Playstation unexplored. Directed by Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, the film grossed $401.5 million worldwide and reached #4 on the list of highest-grossing video game adaptations and #3.
Blomkamp will direct Great Tourism From the screenplay by Jason Hall. PlayStation Productions Asad Kizilba and Carter Swan will produce alongside Hollywood veterans Doug Belgrade and Dana Brunette.

The video game series, created by Polyphony Digital and produced by Kazunori Yamauchi, debuted in 1997.
Some of the gaming experts became real-life professional racers with a program sponsored by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Nissan and Polyphony Digital from 2008 to 2016. The youngest winner of the GT Academy competition was Jann Mardenborough, who played as a teenager.
