Le Consentement de Vanessa Filho, which hit theaters on October 11, has so far amassed 160,000 admissions after 15 days of running, and its attendance is up 40% from the previous week. The increase in attendance can be explained, in large part, by a trending on TikTok.
For several days, users of the social network have been posting videos of themselves before and after watching a feature film about the non-consensual relationship between a writer and a 13-year-old girl.

Cinemas have told distributor Pan distributor that from this Monday, October 23, the film’s audience is predominantly female and young. Producer Marc Missonier also explains on X (formerly Twitter) that the teenagers made the film spontaneously.
Teenagers took the film on themselves. We must be modest about this, programming is impossible. But the movie touched their hearts, that’s for sure.

Some of these videos have gone viral, reaching 1 million views within 24 hours. Film related publications Consent To date, it has accumulated more than 20 million views. The trend that has influenced the theatrical recognition of this film is adapted from Vanessa Springora’s shocking book, which denounces the destructive influence that Gabriel Matznef had on her when she was still a child.
