The Palestinian group also said that the Gaza Strip is almost completely devoid of communications; internet and telephone don’t work
BBC teams in Ashkelon, southern Israel, report that Israeli shelling of the territory has intensified in recent hours. The city is 10 kilometers from Gaza.
According to the report, “heavy shelling, especially from above” can be heard this Friday (10/27).
Hamas, the Palestinian group that administers the Gaza Strip, said telecommunications in the territory had been almost completely cut off.
The group, which carried out a surprise attack in Israel on October 7, also said it fired rockets into Israeli territory again.
