What is it about? Ryan, the clumsy cop, the hero in 30 DAYS MAX, finds himself in the most incredible situation this time. His grandmother has been kidnapped by a Mexican cartel and he has a maximum of 3 days to free her. Together with his loyal colleagues, he experiences extreme adventures between Paris, Abu Dhabi and Mexico.
Follows ideas
Max 3 Days is an extension of Max 30 Days which was released on October 14, 2020. A curfew was imposed on the same day, following the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the limited number of sessions per day, the reduced gauge and the wearing of masks, Tarek Budal’s comedy attracted 1.3 million French people. “The community saved my film. It definitely reinvigorated me. And it pushed me to delve deeper into this action-comedy mix. The idea of 3 Jours max came very quickly then and I talked to my producers about it. Mark Fishman and Christophe Cervon who immediately gave the green light.”
a joke
Tarek Budali convinced Philip LaShaw that he had added a scene to the film in which LaShaw was supposed to get cockroaches on his face. The latter recalls: “I lay down and while he was telling me what to do, he threw a lot of cockroaches at me, even though it wasn’t in the script! It made me laugh so everyone on the set laughed.”
Tom Cruise style stunt
A maximum of 3 days reproduces a lot of movies. Among them, we can cite the Mission: Impossible saga. Like Tom Cruise climbing the famous Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Tarek Budal climbs the Conrad Tower in Abu Dhabi, which is the size of the Eiffel Tower. The actor trained for the stunt alongside Christophe Marceau, whom he describes as “second father” : “I have a special relationship with him because I trust him with my life every time.”

For this occasion, Marsod designed a winch system that did not exist. It was tested on a ten-metre high building in Bray-sur-Marne before being used in Abu Dhabi. Because Conrad Tower was only available for a limited time, the team was unable to rehearse on site. Three days were planned to shoot the drone footage, the cart footage, and the interior when the two businessmen (producers Christophe Cervone and Mark Fishman) see Ryan climbing. But on the eve of the shooting, the time was reduced by one day due to the arrival of the ministers. It all ended in one day, Friday, but Tarek Budal felt something was missing.
He recalls: “The next day was my birthday. I was planning to spend the weekend in Dubai with friends who live there. Something was bothering me there. I don’t know what, but it’s bothering me. I look at the pictures. Again and again. Again on Sunday morning I decided that we should go back: I realized that In no way does the camera show the top of the building below me – without that shot, the audience doesn’t know how high I am.” Fortunately, he was able to film at Conrad Tower on Monday morning after the team spent the night editing from Sunday to Monday.

guest stars
Franck Gastambide, Rossi de Palma and Michel Laroque are coming out in 3 days at most. Regarding the first, which is played in reverse during the scene at the airport, Philippe Lachaux says: “We started in the movies around the same time and we are often compared: same generation, same audience that likes comedies or action… and we really like each other with Frank. We have been telling each other for a long time. that we should do something together and this scene is a good appetizer for the rest.”
Tarek Budal contacted his agent for the Spanish actor: “She’s got that James Bond girl, femme fatale side…I didn’t know her personally, we went through her agent, we Facetimed and she was immediately super cool. She’s gorgeous, this woman! A real character!”
As for Michel Laroque, he directed Philippe Lachaux in Alibi.com, then, in turn, directed the latter, as well as Julien Arrout, Elodie Fontaine and Tarek Budal, in Brillantissime, his first feature as a director. “I thought it was cool and modern to have a female commissioner, and she immediately agreed. She’s a friend and I’m very proud to have her in my film.”Budali declares.
