This Saturday, October 29, Matthew Perry, the famous Chandler Bing interpreter in Friends, was found dead in the jacuzzi of his home in Los Angeles. Sad news that did not cause a reaction from fans, colleagues and other Hollywood stars, who one by one wanted to pay tribute to the actor, who died suddenly at the age of 54.
While yesterday TFX decided to change its programming by airing back-to-back episodes of Friends, today it’s W9’s turn to pay tribute to an actor who has now become unforgettable.
Instead of the movie Aladdin with Will Smith, the channel will broadcast a special episode of Friends: Homecoming. Airing in the United States on HBO Max in May 2021 (then offered in a French version on TF1 a few weeks later), this iconic show allowed fans to find Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer 14 years after the sitcom ended.
For one evening, the actors, who were together for the first time since the last episode of Friends, returned to the legendary setting of the series to remember the ten years that turned out to be a turning point in their lives and careers.
An opportunity for the cast of Phoebe, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Ross and Joey to make surprising revelations behind the scenes of their friends and emotionally re-enact legendary scenes from the sitcom once again.
Presented by James Corden, Friends: The Reunion is also an opportunity to revisit the iconic secondary roles of the series, such as Tom Selleck (Richard) Maggie Wheeler (Janice) or even James Michael Tyler (Gunter, who unfortunately died two years ago) came unexpectedly.
Catch the show Friends, The Reunion this Monday 30th October from 9.05pm on W9 and streaming on 6play. For the more nostalgic, episodes of the iconic series are available in full on Netflix.
