Netflix is working on a reality show based on The Squid Game. This was discussed in the management of the streaming service. Recall that according to the plot of the series, which was recently extended for the second season, the characters played a survival game in which those who failed to complete the tasks were waiting for death.
“The Squid Game” has taken the world by storm thanks to director Hwang’s gripping story. We are turning a fictional world into reality in this competition and social experiment. Fans of The Squid Game are in for an exciting and unpredictable journey as our 456 real world contestants compete in the biggest competition in history, full of tension and twists and turns, with the biggest cash prize ever at stake,” said Netflix President Brandon Rigg.

In the new reality, everything will not be so severe – in case of a loss, the participants will simply drop out of their fight for a cash prize, which, by the way, is rather big: one of the 456 players will take 4.56 million dollars (about 260 million rubles at the current exchange rate). According to Netflix, this will be the biggest cash prize in the history of a reality show. In the series, the characters compete for a prize of 45.6 billion won. But the organizers promise that all participants will remain unharmed, but the challenges will definitely tickle your nerves.
Casting has been announced all over the world, and there is only one condition – fluency in English. The show will be filmed in the UK. The start date of the production process is not yet known.
By the way, YouTube bloggers have already tried to arrange their “Squid Game” in real life. For example, similar videos from Russian bloggers MrBeast and Dima Maslennikov scored 24 and 14 million respectively.
