Universal has released the new poster and second dubbed trailer for “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,” the 2011 animated sequel Puss in Boots: Defend Your Last Life, after losing eight.
In the storyline, he is advised to retire after being diagnosed that he has no more lives to lose and takes refuge in a home with several foster cats. But his whereabouts are discovered by bounty hunters like Goldilocks bears and the big bad wolf, trying to settle the score.
The sequel returns to bring Antonio Banderas as the official voice of the title character and Salma Hayek as Kitty Pata-Mansa. It introduces a host of new characters, including the dog Perro, voiced by Harvey Guillén (“What We Do In the Shadows”), the big bad wolf voiced by Wagner Moura (“Narcos”) and Florence Pugh’s Goldilocks (” Black Widow “)”).
Derived from the “Shrek” franchise, the first film “Puss in Boots” was released in 2011 under the direction of Chris Miller (“Shrek the Third”), grossed $ 555 million worldwide and received a nomination. Oscar for Best Animation.
There is talk of the sequel that started in 2014, but only now has the project come to life, with a screenplay by Paul Fisher and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, all from “The Croods: A New Age”.
The film is scheduled to premiere on September 15 in Brazil, a week before its US release.
