‘Needles all over your body’: what is Morpheus, created by Virginia and Juliette

The aesthetic treatment is a mix of microneedling and radiofrequency, performed under anesthesia and applied only by doctors.

Virginia Fonseca performed a new aesthetic operation on her entire body: face, neck, arms, armpits, stomach, legs, buttocks and even on the shins. On her YouTube channel, the digital influencer, daughter-in-law of the singer Leonardo, told the behind-the-scenes story of Morpheus 8, a treatment that caused a furore around the world after the North American entrepreneur and influencer Kim Kardashian became the “poster girl” of this application.

According to the dermatologist who performed the procedure in Virginia, Dr. Alessandro Alarcão, Morpheus is a radiofrequency microneedling that stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the patient. Since this is a very painful and invasive procedure, sedation is recommended and the treatment can only be carried out by doctors.

“I’ve already had two lipos, one silicone and I’ve never been as tense as I am now,” Virginia said in a video showing her surgery, as she prepared to receive the sedative. As Morpheus became the aesthetic craze of the moment, the influencer with 44 million followers also had to go on a waiting list to receive treatment. “I’ve wanted to do it for a thousand years, but there’s never a date. I’m sure I’ll do it afterwards Ze Felipe [marido de Virgínia] You’ll want to do it, at least your belly.

The doctor explained more details about the device, which has several thin needles on the tips. There are 40 that apply to the body and 24 to the face:

“The needle enters the skin and because this trauma stimulates the collagen and elastin, there is also the association of the radio frequency. This equipment has a feature where it releases the radio frequency fractionally. It is called the sandwich effect. It is a multi-layer treatment. There are more needles entering the skin.”

According to the doctor, Morpheus can be applied to the face, neck, chest, anterior breast region, abdomen, armpits, back, buttocks, inner thighs and knees. The patient can choose whether he wants an anesthetic cream or whether he wants to be completely sedated, as Virginia did.

Morpheus promises to make skin firmer, improve sagging skin, remove acne scars, improve fine lines and tighten pores. Virginia, in turn, did not just create Mopheus. Along with microneedling, she also used other lasers and applied biostimulators (including one with salmon sperm).

“The idea, with this multiple arsenal of treatments, is to enhance collagen,” the doctor said. Virginia was not the first, nor the only Brazilian influencer to undergo this procedure. Juliette herself has already revealed that she has crossed Morpheus, and influencers like Mirela Janis and Kerline have also done so.

The doctor warns, however, that there is no point in taking Morpheus without improving your diet and including exercise in your routine. “To get the final effect, it’s a combination of factors.”
