Actress Dakota Fanning will return to star opposite Denzel Washington, 18 years after collaborating on “Flames of Vengeance” (2004). She was only 10 at the time and she was a little girl who needed to be protected by the bodyguard played by the actor.
Now as an adult, she joins the star in a new action movie: “The Protector 3”, a continuation of the franchise inspired by an 80s TV series – “The Equalizer”.
In the franchise, Washington plays former CIA agent Robert McCall, who becomes something of a vigilante after retirement, always trying to do justice to society’s weak and downtrodden.
“The Protector 3” does not yet have a known synopsis, but will again contain a script by Richard Wenk and directed by Antoine Fuqua, the duo responsible for the two previous films, released in 2014 and 2018.
The first is scheduled for September 2023.
