Netflix has released the first footage of the adaptation of Jane Austen’s world-famous novel Persuasion, starring Dakota Johnson. The plot of the film tells about Ann Elliot, a woman atypical for the 19th century, who lives by her feelings and does not follow the lead of society. She will be played by Dakota, who gained worldwide fame after the release of the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy.

Due to the difficult financial situation, the head of the family has to rent Killinch Hall, where the family of Frederick Wentworth (Cosmo Jarvis) moves in, with whom Ann had to break off her engagement eight years ago. Now they have to find out the relationship, because despite the past years, past love has not faded away in the hearts of both. The film was directed by Carrie Cracknell (“Deep Blue Sea”).

The film will be released on the streaming platform on July 15. Whether the picture will be shown in cinemas is unknown.
