The Flash has finally solved Diggle’s lengthy Arrowverse storyline and I’m disappointed

Attention! The following contains spoilers for the flash episode “The man with the yellow tie”. Read at your own risk!

A lot of things happened in the last episode of the flashincluding not one but two versions of Eobard Thawnebut even that is not comparable to the unexpected scene with John Diggle. David Ramseythe character of skipped many Arrowverse shows with its mystery box for two years, so its appearance wasn’t necessarily surprising. The amazing thing is that the box story is resolved in this episode, but now that it’s done, I’m disappointed.

In what some might call a low year for the Arrowverse taking into account all cancellations solving John Diggle’s bright green box he found in ArrowThe series finale was another disappointment for me. This is what happened and why I am so upset about what we have learned the flash.

How The Flash finally solved the Diggle Box story

After Barry had a conversation with Eobard Thawne in his prison cell located in ARGON’ lian yu John Diggle introduced himself and revealed to Thawne that after consulting with some of the brightest minds in the Arrowverse, he realized he might need the help of someone from centuries past. Thawne confirmed to Diggle that her instincts were right and he knew exactly which one was first Arrow character had to do to reopen the box.

Essentially, Thawne helped Diggle recreate the emotions he felt the night he first found the box, which helped reopen it and reveal that green glow. Diggle liked the green, which Thawne said was Diggle’s key to being powerful. Eventually Diggle refused the power and, when he threw it, the box dematerialized into emptiness.

When a dismayed Thawne asked why he would do this, Diggle said the power would further alienate him from his family, whom he had neglected for years as he tried to unravel the mystery of the box. It’s an understandable ending, even if it doesn’t satisfy me in the least.

because I am disappointed

I can understand why Diggle ultimately denied the mysterious power of the box and decided to opt instead to try to get his family back. What I don’t understand is why it took over two years to come up with a story that only saw John rejecting the box. If that was always the plan, I’m not sure we needed more Diggle appearances. in several shows for such a story.

After all, I’m sure one of the reasons fans got involved in Diggle’s story was due to speculation that he would eventually become a The Green Lantern. Fans have been wondering for years if John would become a Green Lantern, and the Arrowverse and even Ramsey played around with references and vague quotes .

To be honest, the the theory was originally debunked years ago but then we would have a special like “Elseworlds” in which the Barry Allen from another universe I was wondering where the diggle “ring” was . Also, while we never saw what was inside the box, I think it’s clear what the implication was with the bright green light.

John Diggle refused the box, but it looks like he’ll take another route soon. he is is expected to star in the series in development does you justice and has another look for superman and lawsSecond season finale, second Todd HelbingInterview with TV Guide magazine (via rant on the screen ). We can see his new path set there, but at this point it looks like a previous mystery with poor resolution.

We’ll see how it goes, but I don’t see myself revisiting this lap anytime soon. the flash airs Wednesdays from The CW at 8pm ET. As for John Diggle’s next appearance, look for him in the superman and laws Season 2 finale Tuesday, June 28 at 8pm ET.
