How Santos reached an agreement with STJD to play with the public

Santos will have an important ally to free themselves from the relegation zone once and for all: the fans. Inserted into the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD) through resolution no. 29/2009 of the CNE, the artifice is equivalent to a criminal transaction. In other words, a sort of term of conduct adjustment. It allows procedural speed and cost reduction for those who committed the damage.

Important: the disciplinary step is not applicable when the reported person has already benefited from the measure within a period of 360 days before the infringement.

In the case of Santos

This transition is also the subject of an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office and approved by the auditor. About 50% of fines go to charity. Santos will then pay R$150,000 to the STJD (R$75,000 for each match), in addition to the fine of R$36,000 maintained by the sports court.

Santos is currently 15th in the Brazilian championship, with 37 points, three above the feared relegation zone.
